Fire

There is currently a massive fire in Santa Barbara. Just before midnight last night, the sheriff's department came through our neighborhood and told us the wind had shifted and we needed to get ready to leave. So far, we've been able to stay in our home, but we're in an evacuation warning area--and quite frankly it's hard to breathe. We're packed up and ready to go if needed. Please pray for the people in Santa Barbara, many homes have been lost and several firefighters injured.

Katie--How did you choose what to pack and what to leave behind? I hope you won't lose anything that's precious to you. When my family went through the Sichuan earthquake here last year, I grabbed my three year old and ran outside with my other two kids, grabbing nothing else. I didn't think about keys or money or passports--just getting out alive. I'm so thankful the Lord kept our building from collapsing, and I pray your area will also be surrounded with a hedge of protection. Bless you, Ayrian Stone, fellow author and ACFW member

You should use your experiences with the fire to somehow incorporate it into one of your stories!
