Want to write a novel?

If you've always dreamed of writing a novel some day (that was me for many years!), now's your chance to learn how... for free! For the next few days, Amazon is giving away the kindle version of Writing Fiction for Dummies. If you don't have a kindle, you can download the "kindle for PC" app. Here's the link for the giveaway.

I'm back... maybe!

It's been quite a year for me. Between a VERY sick daughter and the illness and subsequent death of my father, I haven't even thought about blogging in ages. Now, I'm trying to decide whether I'm going to take it back up or just let it go. So, I'm going to spend the next couple of weeks playing around and trying to decide.

On the good news front, my daughter is doing much better (not well, but much better). These are a couple of pictures from recent high school football games. As you can see, she does the horse to princess transition rather well :-)

Angel Song

I just received my Advanced Reader Copies of Angel Song!! Woo hoo! Sheila Walsh and I co-wrote this book. It will be out in August, and I'm very excited about it.
Here is the basic blurb:
Angels eagerly watch over Annie Fletcher's every move, she just doesn't know it yet.
When Annie Fletcher returns to Charl
eston to see her younger sister, Sarah, receive her master's degree, she finds herself riding in the back of an ambulance, watching helplessly as Sarah fights for life. During the ride, Sarah appears to talk to someone who is not there, humming a melody Annie has never heard.
Neighbor Ethan McKinney is there to lend a shoulder when Sarah unexpectedly dies. And, as a carpenter, Ethan volunteers to help Annie get the Fletcher family home into shape for selling. Ethan's presence is distracting, but what troubles Annie is her neighbor Tammy's 12-year-old son. Keith has Down Syndrome and the guile to believe he can see and hear angels.
God begins to reveal Himself to Annie--both in her newfound friends and through heart-rending and clearly supernatural events.

Got Kindle?

My publisher is doing a special promotion for the month of April-- they're giving away (yes giving away, as in, for FREE!) the Kindle version of A Promise to Remember.

Be sure to pass the word along to your Kindle-bearing friends!

And if you get the chance, drop me a line and let me know how you like your Kindle (I've been pondering them for a while now). Or... do I want an IPad? Or... am I too technologically challenged for either one?

Book Tour

The Leaving Yesterday book launch tour gets underway this week! Woo hoo! I'll be making stops in Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia (complete schedule here). While I'm touring, I'll be doing my best to keep count, so I can add the total to my Books for Hope campaign (details below).
If you're in the area, stop by and say "hello".

Books For Hope

Want to make a difference in the world?
Looking for something new to read?

During the month of October, for every copy of Leaving Yesterday sold through my website or at any Borders store nationwide, $1 will be donated to Bridges of Hope. This is a wonderful organization which has impacted so many lives in South Africa. I encourage you to visit their website and learn more about their work.
FAQ
What do I need to do? If you purchase Leaving Yesterday through either of the above outlets, your purchase will be counted without any other action required.
What if I'd rather buy from my favorite bookstore? Great! Send me an email telling me when and where you bought the book and a $1 donation will be made for each book. This will not put you on any sort of mailing list!)
Why specifically Borders or your website? They are two of the easier places from which to get specific sales numbers. NOTE: If you buy through my website, it will connect you with CBD.com. You just need to go through my website first so I can count the sales numbers.
