Free book-- hot off the press

If you would like your name entered in a drawing to receive one of seven free copies of Almost Amish,  answer the question below by this Friday (make sure to leave your email so I can contact you if you win). Winners will receive a copy of Almost Amish direct mailed from the publisher. I will email the winners for their mailing address.
Here's the question:
When it comes to parenting, which type are you? If you're not a parent, you can guess :-)

Type A-You head up the PTA, preschool board, fundraisers for the team, etc. Positive- You make sure things get done the right way.  Negative--Everybody seems to lay back and let you do everything.
Type B-  You don't like to be in charge, but you are willing to pitch in and do your part for everything your kids do. Positive- It's nice to be involved and helpful without the stress of being in charge.  Negative- You can get steamrolled into doing too much.
Type C- You work a full time job and you don't want to come home to a bunch of work that someone at the school should be doing. Your job is to take care of the kids at home, it's up to someone with more time to help in the classroom.  Positive- You can maintain something of a time balance in your life. Negative- There can be a sense of disconnect between you and the other parents.

My answer- type B.

I'm a type B parent. I love to be apart of the "team" and had a tendency to make myself too available. But I loved it!

I'm definitely a type B parent! Being the parent of five children, I love to do my part, but definitely get "talked into" doing more! Lol!

My answer between A & B :-)
I like things to get done the right way but after 4 kids, I've been leaning more to Type B, ha!

I like things to be done the right way, but after getting 3 boys through school and working on the 4th (a girl), I'm leaning more towards Type B.

I am a parent and grandparent and love to do things for the kids at the school functions and more. My answer is A and B

Definately B, but sometimes get pushed into A :(

I want to be a B, but I'm frequently an A. I just can't stand to waste time so I usually jump in and run the meeting so we can get out of there. :-)
Fun survey!

Hmmm not sure I want to be C but I do have to be honest-- I have a business that takes so much of me and leaves little time for me to get involved. I dont assume its just somebody elses responsibility to help in the classroom and i am often sad to be missing out on the involvement and the fun in seeing the kids thriving in a beautiful school environment. I hope to upgrade to a B or A one day! :)

I guess I was an A back in the day.

Between A and B....Too much A makes me out of balance..when I am working full time at the office, and have the responsibilities of co-parenting two teens.

ok, since i'm the pta pres for 2 years, guess i'm an A. but i'm good at B too! You are the greatest author out there!!!

Probably 90% Type A, 10% Type B...need to get that in balance at times as I get overwhelmed...need to realize that if I don't step up, someone else finally WILL (I hope). That said, I will go to my grave knowing I did the best I could 100% of the time for my 3 kids and they know I have been there for them no matter what else is going on.

I'm an A, but I'd be happy to be a B!

I am a type B for sure. I teach part time myself, so I let the teachers know I am there to help when needed, but I don't want to be in charge. I have really been looking forward to Almost Amish. I don't usually read Amish, but like the ones that have a "contemporary" spin to them!

I would hope I'd still be a Type B parent, with a love that goes beyond as needed.

I'm not exactly a Type C but leaning more that way. With work, home, kids, pets, sports games for the kids, etc, there isn't much time to do much else....

Hi Katie,

I guess I would be a type B parent. Of course I always want the best for my kids and since I'm "in charge" of them 24/7, I don't think they'd appreciate me taking charge of anything else. They've always loved me to be a part of what they're doing though, and so do I.

Regretfully, I was a Type C. If I could do it over again, I would do more Type B.

Hi, I am a type B. I am usually part of the team. Lots of times ending up doing more than originally thought I was going to do, but that is OK, I like things done the right way. I guess I really am a type A, but try to be a type B.

Type C:I do work a full time job, and feel that the teachers went to college and should be the ones teaching not me. Teaching styles have changed and I am an older mother who is fat now and has little energy to devote to many things, so I have to choose what I want to do w/my kids. Stress is a big factor, and I feel mother who don't have to work don't understand. But I am glad they are there to be the homeroom Moms.
