My roomie, the winner!!

One of my very favorite things about this year's ACFW conference, was watching my friend and roommate Carrie Padgett win the 'Lit category of the Genesis contest. Carrie and I have been friends since meeting at Mount Hermon a couple of years ago, and I've conned her into rooming with me at every writers conference since. She is a truly gifted writer, and I am soooo happy to see it acknowledged!!
Way to go Carrie!!!

I've taken refuge in my office, the shades are pulled. The paparazzi are climbing the tree outside, trying to get a shot of me at work on the next great chick lit novel of the 21st century. Katie, thanks for giving them an candid shot to use. Maybe they'll leave me alone now. :)

Okay, I really am in my office but the trees are empty except for a few crepe myrtle blossoms and sycamore pods.

Thanks for the encouragement, roomie!

Carrie
PS: Katie is always right.

Carrie is a winner in so many ways.

It's great to see her hard work acknowledged!

And to think--I knew Carrie (and you) "when."
Guess I'm the slow one in the group.

For Carrie to win this prize is a testament to her and her relationship with the Lord. I am so proud of you and your accomplishments and to have them recognized in this setting is awesome. I would have never guessed this of Carrie way back in our college days - before children and husbands!! I am just glad I am still her friend to see her ongoing achievements. Best to you, Susan Hemb (formerly Gremminger)
